We all experience difficult seasons in our lives: illness, recovery, financial hardship, broken relationships, marriage or parenting challenges, adoption, foster & orphan care, loss and grief. God uses each to shape us in distinct ways, and He designed the church to be the community we need around us during these times. All of us are dependent on Christ for our emotional health, growth for our relationships and healing. CollegeLIFE Gathering: “God Alone”
Monday, March 20 at 8pm, High School Room

Life is difficult, plans fall through, but the Word of God is trustworthy. In the book of Ecclesiastes, Solomon discovered and experienced the vanity of pursuing the things of this world. Join us as we learn from Solomon’s mistakes, his triumphs, his struggle with his own humanity and how over his lifetime he learned to trust in “God Alone”.

So why is Fellowship “Elder-led”?

We follow a leadership model we see prescribed for our benefit by Scripture. The “elder-led” approach provides us with sound guidance from biblically-qualified men. All of our elders meet the stated qualifications for this office as laid out in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.

What are the responsibilities of our Elders?

The primary responsibility of an elder is to spiritually shepherd the church (1 Timothy 3:5). That involves a number of specific duties. As spiritual overseers of the flock, elders are to determine church policy (Acts 15:22); oversee the church (Acts 20:28); ordain others (1 Timothy 4:4); rule, teach, and preach (1 Timothy 5:17; cf. 1 Thessalonians 5:12; 1 Timothy 3:2); exhort and refute (Titus 1:9); and act as shepherds, setting an example for all (1 Peter 5:1-3).

They meet regularly to pray and provide spiritual oversight on matters concerning the church. Elders are volunteers: the only paid staff elder is the Lead Pastor.

Who are our Elders?

Rick Dunn rdunn@fellowshipknox.org
Tim Carty tcarty@fellowshipknox.org
Kevin Clarno kclarno@fellowshipknox.org
Bob Grove bgrove@fellowshipknox.org
Dell Morgan dmorgan@fellowshipknox.org
Bill Park bpark@fellowshipknox.org
Jeff Townsend jtownsend@fellowshipknox.org
Gregor Smee gsmee@fellowshipknox.org
Steve Sword ssword@fellowshipknox.org
Jay Warrick jwarrick@fellowshipknox.org
Danny Wilson dwilson@fellowshipknox.org

You can learn more about our elders at fellowshipknox.org/#/elders

Would You Pray?

Prayer is a critical and necessary part of our spiritual well- being. Vision, direction, courage and focus all derive from our connection and devotion to Jesus. Would you take a few minutes during your week to pray for our Elders by name? It is one of the most important ways we can encourage and support their leadership and love for our body.

Finances can be one of the most challenging and anxious aspects of life, but God equips us to succeed when we “seek first His Kingdom” (Matthew 6:24-34). For information contact FellowshipFinancialMinistry@gmail.com.
