Children's Ministry Serving Opportunities
Welcome Team, Security, and Administrative

What do these three opportunities have in common? They are VITAL supports to Children's Ministry. The Welcome Team is one of the first contacts families have with Children's Ministry. Welcome Team members help families get their children placed in their correct classrooms with proper security identification. Our Security Team keeps our hallways secure and keeps a watchful eye out. Admins support and assist Ministry Directors to keep Sunday mornings running smoothly. These are golden opportunities to serve the children and families of Fellowship outside of the classroom. For more information, please contact Dorry Floyd at dfloyd@fellowshipknox.org

Worship Team (Instrumental and Vocal)
We invite those who are gifted musically to apply and interview to serve on the worship team for the school calendar year of 2018-2019. We welcome all vocals and rhythm section instruments (drums, bass, guitar, keys) as well as “ancillary” instruments such as strings, brass, and woodwinds. If you are interested, click here to apply!

Forms and connection cards are awesome, but so are real people. Our volunteers and staff are available to answer questions. Please visit with a connection team member at either end of the main lobby or in the Resource Center on Sunday or complete a connection card at cc.fellowshipknox.org to be contacted by a staff member.

The Surge Initiative: A New Update Watch the video HERE.
We are in the final stages of completing the Surge Initiative plans for expanding our physical footprint at Middlebrook. On Sunday, April 22, Rick, and Greg gave an overview/update on these new additions and next steps over the summer. Visit our connections centers for questions and to receive a packet that includes an overview of the initiative, the physical investment of the project, a prayer guide and commitment card. Questions? Contact Kristi at kfisher@fellowshipknox.org

Initiative Overview
Over the past year, our Elders engaged in a season of intense prayer and dialogue. The focus of their patient journey was to discern the Spirit’s leading for the future of our disciple-making movement.

After months of prayer, discussion, and spiritual insight, our elders issued five challenging objectives for the next five years as to how we, as a body, can: further our mission, deepen our walk with Jesus, and better disciple and equip this next generation for His disciple-making movement.

A key obstacle is that our building is out of balance. We have adequate gathering space, but we do not have the disciple-making space needed to intentionally increase the ways we support families, train adults to invest in children, share the Gospel with at-risk youth, and equip the next generation.

Discover your part, your place, in this movement of where we believe He is taking us, how the physical investment of the initiative breaks down, and ways you can invest relationally, pray and contribute to the process.

This is His Movement, Our Moment.

Resource Center
What does it mean to be a disciple-maker? What kind of person is a disciple-maker? Many people believe that being a disciple-maker means being a teacher of all things biblical. Church culture can often give the impression that in order to be a disciple-maker, one must have a pastoral position with a seminary education and be proficient in ancient languages. With qualifications like these it is no wonder that many followers of Christ feel overwhelmed with the idea of being a disciple-maker. But are these descriptions biblical? Discover more at disciple.fellowshipknox.org or drop by the Resource Center on Sundays.

So why is Fellowship “Elder-led”?

We follow a leadership model we see prescribed for our benefit by Scripture. The “elder-led” approach provides us with sound guidance from biblically-qualified men. All of our elders meet the stated qualifications for this office as laid out in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.

What are the responsibilities of our Elders?

The primary responsibility of an elder is to spiritually shepherd the church (1 Timothy 3:5). That involves a number of specific duties. As spiritual overseers of the flock, elders are to determine church policy (Acts 15:22); oversee the church (Acts 20:28); ordain others (1 Timothy 4:4); rule, teach, and preach (1 Timothy 5:17; cf. 1 Thessalonians 5:12; 1 Timothy 3:2); exhort and refute (Titus 1:9); and act as shepherds, setting an example for all (1 Peter 5:1-3).

They meet regularly to pray and provide spiritual oversight on matters concerning the church. Elders are volunteers: the only paid staff elder is the Lead Pastor.

Who are our Elders?

Would You Pray?
Prayer is a critical and necessary part of our spiritual well-being. Vision, direction, courage and focus all derive from our connection and devotion to Jesus. Would you take a few minutes during your week to pray for our Elders by name? It is one of the most important ways we can encourage and support their leadership and love for our body.
